Hi and welcome to my new Blog, i decided to have a new beginning for 2015 with a fresh look and more regular posts so am closing down So Much More To Learn and So Much To Learn as i want to just keep one blog for anything other than paper crafting.
I would like to thank the lovely Followers that left me some amazing comments over the last 5 years and i hope you will follow me here too. I will be keeping the blogs open until June 2015 then they will be deleted.
For my first post I fell in love with a diary that one of our UK retailers published for 2015 so i purchased two of the A5 size and one of the A6. the A6 i gifted, one of the A5 copies is going to be my diary but this one is going to be a journal of sorts where i can alter pages with drawings, doodles and more.
I really don’t get on with red at all but this was the colour of the one i purchased that was half price, i really like the deep red embossed page but it had to be changed as i know it would annoy me very quickly so i gathered my supplies and set off with no particular colours in mind.
I recently joined the DecoArt Blogger Outreach Programme.
I have used only DecoArt products on this project which i have purchased but in further posts i will be provided with their products to play with but my views on how they perform will be my own.
Layer One added Mixed Media Raw Sienna paint.
Layer 2 Mixed Media Burnt Umber paint.
Layer 3 Mixed Media Carbon Black Mister and then a layer of Mixed Media Quinacridone Gold paint.
Layer 5 Mixed Media Medium Grey Antiquing Cream.
Wanted to use some of the Interference colours from the Mixed Media Range here you can see Interference Green and Interference Blue.
Finally i added a layer of Mixed Media Silver paint which is just beautiful when buffed up, i wasn’t too keen on the darker finish and seeing as i will be using this everyday it needed to be lighter. To seal the diary cover i applied 3 layers of the Mixed Media Soft Touch Varnish. Now i have an altered diary which is soft to the touch and a place i can happily play.
The paints and antiquing cream were so easy to use, you don’t use much because of the excellent coverage they provide. The DecoArt Mixed Media Range of acrylic paints and mediums were new for 2014 and i have fallen in love with every item i have tried so far, it has made my painting easier and much more fun, especially as all the items are cleaned up with soap and water.
I hope you like the new diary cover and the blog, would love to read your comments.
Thanks for dropping by.
